Akunin said goodbye to Russian readers

“Dear Russian readers, it seems that we are parting with you,” Akunin wrote on the social network.
He stated that he continues to hold the same political views as before and does not intend to stop expressing them. According to the writer, after the start of the Russian SVO in Ukraine, he continued to publish in the Russian Federation, because “the position was this: I will not part with my readers of my own free will.” As for the statements after which it was announced that the publication would be stopped, according to the writer, he does not deny them, except for one. Akunin stated that he did not agree with calls for the murder of Russians, and the phrases attributed to him were the result of a provocation to which he succumbed.
“Dear Russian readers, if we say goodbye, it will be for a while,” Akunin concluded, expressing hope for a quick meeting.
