Aksyonov announced the nationalization of Zelensky’s apartment in Crimea

The apartment of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and a number of other real estate in Crimea will be nationalized. About it informed Head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov in his Telegram channel.

“Crimea continues to nationalize the property of Russia’s enemies. A number of objects, including a building in Simferopol, which belonged to the extremist “Mejlis” banned in Russia, as well as Elena Zelenskaya’s apartment in Yalta, are becoming the property of the republic,” he said.

In a video message, he stressed that “enemies of Russia will not earn money in the Russian Crimea.” In the middle of March Aksenov allowedthat Zelensky’s apartment can be transferred to the needs of low-income or large families.

The Zelensky family owns an apartment in the village of Livadia in Yalta and a parking space there, their area is 129.8 and 16.1 square meters. m respectively. The property is registered to Zelensky’s wife Elena, she bought an apartment in 2013, when Crimea was still part of Ukraine.

In early February, it became known that the enterprises of Ukrainian businessmen Rinat Akhmetov and Igor Kolomoisky, ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Ukrainian MP Nestor Shufrich, Lithuanian businessman Kolas Igoris and others were nationalized.

In April 2022, deputies of the State Council of Crimea made to the State Duma a bill that makes it possible to forcibly seize the property of citizens from unfriendly countries. Amendments are proposed to be made to Part 1 of Art. 235 of the Civil Code (“grounds for termination of property rights”). However, the President’s Codification Council considered this project to be contrary to the Constitution and therefore did not support it. Despite this, in October, deputies of the State Council of Crimea supported the changes.
