The head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, called on residents and guests of the peninsula not to use pyrotechnics and fireworks during the New Year holidays. He wrote about this in his telegram channel.

He noted that the ban is regulated by the relevant document and changes will not be made to it.

“First of all, this is necessary for the safety of citizens. I also consider it inappropriate to hold mass festive events,” wrote Sergei Aksenov.

At the same time, he added that New Year holidays will be held for children in a limited format, and Christmas trees will be installed in cities and villages and the streets will be decorated.

Earlier it became known that a number of Russian regions introduced a ban or localized restrictions on pyrotechnic products during the New Year holidays. For example, a ban on fireworks was introduced in the Rostov, Bryansk, Kursk, and Belgorod regions.
