Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, considers it necessary to provide cross-border settlements in cryptocurrency with a regulatory framework. Earlier, the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance also agreed that at present “it is impossible to do without cross-border settlements in cryptocurrency.”

“One of the highest priority tasks in this direction is to make sure that those who enter this market are identified. An equally important task is to determine the boundaries of the use of cryptocurrencies used for cross-border settlements in the legal field. First of all, this requires a legislative basis for a legal and transparent process. At the same time, it is worth remembering the ban on cryptocurrencies as a means of payment in the Russian Federation,” explained Mr. Aksakov (quoted by RIA Novosti).

Today, September 5, Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev toldthat the Ministry of Finance of Russia and the Central Bank consider it necessary to legalize cross-border payments in cryptocurrencies. However, at the beginning of the year, the Central Bank spoke for the prohibition in Russia of the issuance of crypto-currencies, as well as their use as investments.

The day before, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin proposed implement digital assets to pay for imports and exports. According to him, this will be a safe alternative for all parties. What kind of assets can be used for these transactions, the Prime Minister did not specify.

More details – in the material “Kommersant FM” “Digital assets are being matched for payments.”
