Aircraft-type drone shot down in Belgorod region

An aircraft-type drone was shot down in the sky over the Belgorodsky district of the Belgorod region, informed Governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov in his Telegram channel.

“Our air defense system worked over the Belgorod region – an aircraft-type UAV was shot down. Operational services are clarifying information about the consequences on the ground,” he wrote.

According to preliminary data, no one was injured in the incident, the governor added.

The Belgorod region is regularly attacked by Ukraine. A high (“yellow”) level of terrorist threat operates in the region indefinitely. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the average level of response has been set in the region.

On August 17, seven districts of the Belgorod region were shelled and the region was attacked by drones five times, Gladkov said earlier today. Prior to this, the head of the region reported on the operation of the air defense system in the region on August 15. Then the drone was seen in the sky over the Shebekinsky district. As a result, the drone was shot down, no one was injured. On August 14, two targets were shot down in the air by an air defense system over the village of Pushkarnoye in the Belgorod Region.
