In Mariupol, a militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot a civilian for the incorrect pronunciation of the word “scorch”

The prosecutor of the Southern District Military Court, during the trial of Ukrainian serviceman Anton Cherednik, stated that the defendant, according to investigators, shot a civilian in Mariupol for pronunciation, checking his nationality with the word “palyanitsa”.

According to the prosecutor, in the course of patrolling the area in the village of Mirny, temporarily occupied by Ukraine, at the end of March last year, Cherednik, together with a grenade launcher, noticed two civilians walking down the street. She specified that the defendant fired several shots into the air, ordering them to stop and lie face down on the ground.

After that, as the prosecutor noted, Cherednik took one of the civilians aside, asking him a question about “what does the word “palyanitsa” mean in Ukrainian”, in order to verify nationality. The prosecutor noted that a civilian answered the defendant that he did not know, and he was identified as “a person of Russian nationality and an adherent of the Russian world, supporting the sovereignty of the DPR.”

She added that after that, Cherednik, “against the background of hatred for representatives of the Russian nationality,” shot a civilian with two bullets, and he died on the spot.
