“After this goal, a mass brawl almost broke out on the field” – Kommersant FM

“Krasnodar” became the sole leader of the Russian football championship. This happened after the southerners’ victory over Ural with a score of 2:0. The most unexpected result of the football weekend was recorded in St. Petersburg, where Zenit lost to Lokomotiv (1:2). Kommersant FM sports commentator Vladimir Osipov followed the matches of the ninth round of the RPL.
It was difficult to believe that this Zenit could give away the game on their own field. Bookmakers gave some unrealistic odds for such an outcome, but, to the amazement of football fans, it happened. Moreover, in the first half everything went according to plan. Mateo Cassierra scored, the hosts took the lead, but after the break, Maxim Glushenkov, who first came on as a substitute, equalized the score, and in injury time, Nair Tiknizyan put Loko ahead.
After this goal, a mass brawl almost broke out on the field. The scorer of the second goal, Nair Tiknizyan, rushed headlong into the brawl and received a red card. Which, as it turned out, he doesn’t regret at all:
“When my partner is kicked from the knee, although the blow was weak, but Wendel moved his leg, I cannot remain indifferent. I see my teammate more often than my parents, and I will give, fight,. Ten times this will happen, ten times I will do exactly the same. Because you shouldn’t offend my team.”
When the final whistle sounded, the teams could have fought hand-to-hand, but Artem Dzyuba calmed everyone down. Lokomotiv won (2:1), but there is no point in talking about a crisis in Sergei Semak’s team, despite this defeat, football expert Igor Korneev is sure:
“You can talk about a crisis when there is no game – no moments, no organization. I don’t see anything like that in this case. There is also organization, and there are a lot of moments. That is, the crisis and Zenit have nothing in common at the moment.”
And yet, Krasnodar took advantage of Zenit’s defeat. The victory over Ural (2:0) allowed the southerners to break away from their pursuers. Krylya Sovetov, which is in second place, is three points behind the leader, and Zenit, which is third, is four points behind. The fourth position after the victory over Dynamo (1:0) is in Spartak. But Dynamo and Loko are literally breathing down the red and white, but CSKA is stuck in the middle of the standings.
Now the red-blues are in ninth place, although in Rostov Vladimir Fedotov’s team showed character. Imagine, CSKA was losing 0:2 and 1:3, but in the end they were able to level the score. The match turned out to be incredible in terms of plot, but this did not make the army team’s problems go away, commentator Elvin Kerimov is sure:
“If the goal is to fight for the championship, then CSKA simply does not have enough roster and bench for this.”
But before fighting for the championship, the army team needs to get out of the second eight. Yes, the gap from the leaders is small; Fedotov’s team is only three points behind Spartak. So after the ninth round everything is tight in the standings. But, most importantly, this season there are no teams that would doom themselves to relegation from the RPL from the first rounds.
Now the last two places are occupied by Kazan “Rubin” and Voronezh “Fakel”, but they show decent football and are clearly not going to leave the elite football division of our country. Therefore, the head-to-head match between outsiders, which will end the ninth round on September 25, may turn out to be no less spectacular than, for example, the game “Zenit” – “Lokomotiv” or “Rostov” – CSKA.
