After the death of two sons in the SVO, the mother achieved the return of the third

The village of Storozhevsky Khutor in the Usmansky district is quite small, a little more than 500 people live here. Everyone knows the hardworking Dzyubenko family well, in which they raised five sons.

“Olga Nikolaevna and Vyacheslav Nikolaevich are great workers, they worked all their lives on the Lenin Way collective farm, worked on the farm,” says Galina Ternovykh, head of the Storozhevsko-Khutorsky village council. – We had meat and dairy cattle breeding, we also grew grain, cereals and industrial crops. Olga is generally very smart, a very knowledgeable livestock specialist. At one time, she graduated from an agricultural technical school with a red diploma.

The villagers also note the spiritual qualities of the Dzyubenko couple.

“Both are very kind, sympathetic, always ready to help,” says Tatyana, a resident of Storozhevsky Farms. – The family is very positive, non-drinker. Olya is a wonderful person and a good mother.

Their eldest sons, Vladimir and Vitaly, are 44 years old and 40. They live with their families in the city of Usman, which is located twenty kilometers from Khutorov.

On September 29, 2022, summons were brought to the younger ones, Mikhail and Dmitry. They went to the front. And in October, the middle son Evgeny volunteered for the Wagner PMC – he fell into the thick of it, near Artemovsk.

According to the villagers, relatives managed to talk to Zhenya on the phone only twice. The last time they contacted him was just before the New Year. And on January 18, 2023, while performing a combat mission, he died heroically. The coffin with the body of Yevgeny was brought to his native village only on March 23, two months later.

According to the residents of Khutorov, Zhenya was buried at the local cemetery with military honors. A black flag with the emblem of PMC Wagner was placed over the grave.

“Misha and Dima didn’t make it to their brother’s funeral,” Tatyana says. They were given leave later. And two months later, a new misfortune came to the Dzyubenko family: on June 2, Misha was seriously wounded. The shell hit the dugout, Misha was cut with shrapnel. He was dying in the arms of Dima’s brother…

As the villagers say, Mikhail and Dmitry were very close, after graduating from school they worked together at a construction site, then they got a job together in the Usmansky district to work at a greenhouse complex. Everyone noted their diligence and decency.

The brothers, once in the NWO zone, fought in one unit. They were BMP drivers. When Mikhail died, Dmitry was given leave to bring home and bury his brother.

The farewell ceremony for Mikhail, as the residents of Storozhevsky Farms recall, took place on June 15.

– Both the old and the young cried bitterly in the village. Misha was buried next to his brother Zhenya. The Russian flag and the flag of motorized rifle troops fluttered over the churchyard.

According to the villagers, after Misha’s funeral, his father went down to the river and simply shouted out loud, unable to change anything. And then he got into cardiology …

And on July 30, Dmitry was supposed to go back to the zone of the special operation. But the mother decided to seek his demobilization

“It was also scary to look at 28-year-old Dmitry: he closed up, turned black with grief,” says Tatyana. – All the time he blamed himself for not being able to save Misha. It was clear that he would not feel sorry for himself on the front line, he would climb into the very hell, he would begin to take revenge … He could not return to the NVO zone.

In the village, they note that Dmitry was in such a depressive state that, by decision of the Medical Consultative Commission (MCC), he was given another 20 days for rehabilitation, and the sick leave was extended. On August 25, by 8 am, he was ordered to arrive in Mulino, in his tank regiment. And then – to Ukraine, to the special operation zone.

Olga Nikolaevna published an appeal on social networks to caring people so that they could help her write letters to various departments. We should have left Dima at home. He and his wife raised a five-year-old daughter.

The request for help from Olga Dzyubenko was widely distributed on social networks. Social activists, lawyers and just caring people got involved. E-mails with links to the mother’s appeal flew to the regional administration, the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Defense, and the military prosecutor’s office.

Residents of Khutorov say that Olga Nikolaevna and Dmitry took a petition from the district military registration and enlistment office, went with him to the regional military registration and enlistment office. The head of the administration of the Lipetsk region Igor Artamonov, the head of the Usmansky district Vladimir Mazo, and the military commissar joined the case.

And the other day, an order came from the Ministry of Defense that Dmitry was transferred from the NVO zone to a tank unit in Mulino.

We managed to contact Dmitry. He confirmed that the order had indeed come.

“They sent me the received telegram on WhatsApp, now I will be at the military unit in the Nizhny Novgorod region,” says Dmitry. – I’m going to unit one. The family will stay at home.

Dmitry recalls how he and his brother brought summons to the parental home a year ago.

– There were no doubts, we did not hide, we understood that those liable for military service went to do their duty. Misha at one time did his military service in a motor battalion, drove a KamAZ truck. I served on ships. After military service signed a three-year contract.

Both ended up in the infantry in the special operation zone. Of course, you get used to everything. Misha and I fought in different crews, but we were together all the time. They ate together, slept together. And during the shelling on June 2, I was there. My brother died in my arms.

– Misha didn’t have his own family?

No, my brother didn’t get married. He was my daughter’s godfather. Misha passed away on June 2, and on the 3rd, her daughter had a birthday …

Dmitry says that his father, Vyacheslav Nikolaevich, who ended up in cardiology, has already left the hospital. Now is at home. Dima tries to visit his relatives from Usman every day.

In the Storozhevsko-Khutorsky village council they said that the roof was measured in the house of Olga Nikolaevna and Vyacheslav Nikolaevich Dzyubenko. It will be covered.

“They transferred 312 thousand rubles to their account for materials,” says the head of the village council, Galina Ternovykh. – Now we are making a budget. The work will be fully paid by the head of the district.

Relatives retain the hope that Dmitry will be transferred to serve closer to home, in the Lipetsk region.
