Morgenstern was banned from entering the UAE following Sobchak’s interview
The UAE authorities have blocked rapper Alisher Morgenstern (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) from entering the country, TASS reports, citing his lawyer Sergei Zhorin.
As noted, the decision of the UAE authorities followed Morgenstern’s interview with Ksenia Sobchak, which was organized by Ksenia Sobchak in November last year. After leaving Russia, Morgenstern permanently resided in the UAE
According to Zhorin’s statement, his client did not violate the laws of his country of residence, and he called the reason for closing the entry “denunciation.” According to him, Morgenstern’s entry into the UAE was closed before the New Year.
“The reason for such a radical measure was the denunciation of an unknown well-wisher to the law enforcement agencies of Dubai,” Zhorin said. He also expressed hope that the UAE authorities will “understand and reconsider their decision.”
Earlier, the performer himself announced the closure of the entrance to Dubai. As TASS notes, Morgenstern is currently in Indonesia. He was included in the register of individuals performing the functions of a foreign agent on May 6.
