After defeating Dynamo Vologda, Spartak Kostroma reached the 1/64 of the Russian Football Cup

On August 31, a football match was held at the Harvest stadium in the village of Karavaevo, the outcome of which many Kostroma residents were waiting for, frankly, with a fair amount of anxiety: after all, our red-and-whites had to play with the by no means weak Dynamo Vologda team in 1/128 of the Cup tournament Russia in football. And the anxiety was connected with the results of the last two games with the Vladimir Murom and the Orekhovo-Zuevsky Banner of Labor, which were not brilliant (so to say) for the Kostroma Spartak.

But our “Spartak” did not disappoint – and many fans who attended the last games of their favorite team noted that the Kostroma players showed much better teamwork than in other recent home matches.

Already in the first half, the Kostroma residents opened the gates of the Vologda residents twice – (Artemy Ukomsky on the 26th minute and Dmitry Merenchukov on the 37th). In the second half, the same Artemy Ukomsky scored his second goal for the game, but at the very end of the game, Dynamo still managed to score a “goal of prestige”. Total 3:1 in our favor.

In general, our Spartak has a confident victory and an exit to the 1/64 finals.

Now Kostroma fans will be waiting for September 4, when Spartak will play with Tver as part of the Russian Second League Championship.
