Diplomatic adviser to the President of the Union of the Comoros, Hamad Madi Bolero, said that African countries that proposed a peace initiative to resolve the Ukrainian crisis intend to discuss their plan with Russian President Vladimir Putin at a summit in St. Petersburg.
As the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov told reporters, the participation of the President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphos at the Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg is expected. With him, as well as with other participants, there will be contacts on the sidelines of the summit, the Kremlin representative noted.
In June, the Russian leader met with a delegation of African leaders. It presented the African initiative to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, which consists of 10 points. They concern, in particular, the freedom of movement of grain across the Black Sea.
The second summit and economic forum “Russia – Africa” will be held on July 27-28.
