Aeroflot will start compensating passengers for flight delays with bonus miles

How informed in an interview with Vedomosti, the airline’s CEO Sergei Aleksandrovsky, the carrier plans to introduce compensation for delays due to the fault of the carrier with bonus miles before the end of the year. Compensation will be available to participants of the bonus program.
“In October, we will introduce compensation with bonus miles for flight delays due to the fault of the airline, in addition to what is required by law. If delayed from two to four hours – 2000 miles, from four to eight hours – 3000 miles, over eight hours – 4000 miles. They will be credited immediately without any additional supporting documents. If a passenger is not a member of the Aeroflot Bonus program, then he can simply register and receive an accrual automatically, ”said Aleksandrovsky.
The general director of the air carrier noted that the innovation will apply to all Aeroflot flights and Rossiya airline flights under the SU code. These flights are operated under the commercial management of the carrier’s parent company.
