Aeroflot spoke about 135 thousand pets transported in a year

The air carrier’s press service reported that at the end of last year, the company increased the number of animals transported by a third compared to 2022. It is noted that 135.9 thousand pets were transported on the carrier’s own regular flights and its subsidiary Rossiya. At the same time, more than 98.2 thousand of man’s friends were flying in the cabin of the plane.

According to company representatives, in January 2024, the number of transported pets continued to grow and increased by 26% compared to the same period in 2023. Over the course of a month, 12.4 thousand pets became passengers of the carrier.

Last December, the company announced a test transportation of pets in the next passenger seat, the press service recalled. Passengers can seat their pet next to them if the weight of the container together with the animal does not exceed 15 kg. To date, more than 800 pets have managed to fly this way.

For the comfort of air travel for passengers traveling with animals, the company has created a special section on the official website. Aeroflot representatives clarified that leading industry experts are involved in the work on it, who regularly publish and update up-to-date information on safe and convenient flights with pets.
