Adults told how to help children cope with stress

“Psychological balance of children” was the topic of the All-Russian Open Parent Meeting, which was held on the initiative of the Ministry of Education in an online format.

The organizers of the event, well-known Russian psychologists, explained to parents of preschoolers, schoolchildren and students of secondary vocational educational institutions how to help children cope with stress, by what “parameters” one can determine that a child’s anxiety state lasts for a long time. Also, experts from the Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University held seminars where they explained to adults how and when the child’s psyche is formed, in what forms stress manifests itself at this age, how to build a trusting relationship with a child, and whether there are boundaries in education.

According to child psychologist Yulia Saykova, the main difficulty in relationships, for example, between parents and preschool children is that kids cannot always explain to adults what is happening to them. Therefore, parents have to find out that their child is under stress, according to some external signs, for example, the baby does not want to play with certain children, closes, does not eat.

A separate section of the parent meeting was devoted to the problem of the adolescent crisis. Psychologists and parents of schoolchildren talked about at what age it can begin, how it goes, what needs to be done to avoid or minimize it, and most importantly, how to help the child survive it.

Another section of the parent meeting discussed the relationship of young people who are already studying in colleges or technical schools with their parents. Experts talked about how adults can help teenagers build relationships with peers, what kind of conflicts and why arise in adolescence, explained how stress affects the psyche of a teenager.
