Photoshop launches AI-powered image generator Firefly in the second half of 2023 told edition of The Verge.
At the moment, from the entire Firefly toolkit, only the Generative Fill function (“generative filling of content.” – “Vedomosti”) works. The function will allow you to expand the boundaries of the image and supplement them based on the existing image using neural networks.
The tool can draw objects on a photo and save the style of the image. For example, if you add a puddle to the object, then the neural network will also draw the reflection in the water. If the background of the original photo was blurred, then the AI will take this into account and continue to draw in the same vein.
At the moment, other neural networks are already available that can change images, but, according to The Verge, it is the integration of new technologies into popular products that makes new tools available to a wide range of users. Adobe claims that the neural network was trained only on the content for which the company has the rights – these are images Adobe Stock and pictures with an open license.
At the same time, images created with the help of AI receive an appropriate attribute to prevent users from passing off such images as their own creation.
Formerly Google stated about plans to use AI technology to improve its search engine and compete with other companies in the field.
