Five more psychologists flew to Orsk to help flood victims

An additional group of psychologists from the Russian Red Cross (RRC) will arrive in the Orenburg region on April 14 to provide assistance to people affected by the flood. Chairman of the RKK Pavel Savchuk reported in his Telegram channel that four RKK specialists are already working in the region who help people cope with stress and anxiety by servicing temporary accommodation centers (TAP).

Due to the escalating situation, a team of five more people was sent to the Orenburg region, who underwent special training in providing psychological assistance in emergency situations.

Earlier it was reported that charity program coordinator Andrei Spiridonov and the Heritage center sent 21.4 tons of drinking water to Orsk. The head of the Russian Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, said that full medical assistance has been organized for flood-affected residents of the region, and the necessary vaccines have been delivered.

The water level in the Ural River near Orenburg reached a historical maximum on April 11, rising to 1,092 cm. The situation continued to deteriorate, and the water level increased by another 17 cm. At the moment, the level of the Ural River in the Orenburg region has exceeded 11 meters, which is historical maximum. Thousands of families were forced to leave their flooded homes. In this regard, a federal emergency has been declared in the Orenburg region.
