Abramchenko said there are no prerequisites for resuming the grain deal

Russia does not see any prerequisites for resuming negotiations on a grain deal. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko.
“No, there are no successes for the Russian side there. But there is no success for the Russian side – there is no resumption of the negotiation process,” she said (cit. according to RIA Novosti).
According to Abramchenko, Russian agricultural products are exported through other channels. “Our positions in both price and volume terms show that we are fully resolving these issues. The grain deal is not the only channel or corridor for the sale of our products,” she added.
On July 17, Russia left the grain deal, which was concluded in July 2022 by representatives of Turkey and the UN, on the one hand, and representatives of Russia and Ukraine, on the other. The Ukrainian part of the deal implied the unimpeded export of grain from the ports of Odessa, Yuzhny and Chernomorsk, while the Russian part meant the easing of restrictions on the export of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers. The decision was due to the failure to comply with the second part of the agreement, which concerns the abolition of restrictions on the export of Russian products.
September 22, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov statedthat there is currently no progress in terms of fulfilling Russia’s conditions for resuming the grain deal. In the same week, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell saidthat the EU cannot agree with Russia on the resumption of the Black Sea initiative.
