About 1 million textbooks were brought from Russia for schools in Donbass

About 1 million textbooks were delivered from the Russian Federation to schools in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), TASS reported on Sunday, citing DPR Prime Minister Vitaly Khotsenko.
“Today we received another batch of textbooks from the Russian Federation – just over 213,000 copies. In total, about 1 million textbooks have already been delivered from Russia for schools in our republic,” he said.
According to the prime minister, new batches of school textbooks from the Russian Federation will arrive in the region almost daily until September 1. “In total, before the start of the school year, 2 million 513 thousand copies of textbooks for schools in our republic will be delivered in the form of humanitarian assistance from the Russian Federation,” Khotsenko said.
He noted that the Ministry of Education and Science of the DPR, together with the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Russian publishing house Prosveshchenie, are providing educational literature for DPR schools. The supply of textbooks to educational institutions in the liberated territories of Donbass is carried out by the Russian Ministry, in other areas of the DPR – by the regions in charge of them.
“A list and nomenclature of educational literature was agreed upon, the need for educational institutions of the DPR was determined: a little more than 3 million 335 thousand copies. Until August 26, the necessary educational literature will be delivered to all schools in the liberated territories. The supply of textbooks for schools located in historical territories will be completed by November 1, ”summed up the Prime Minister of the DPR.
