Abdulatipov resigned as Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

Ramazan Abdulatipov has been relieved of his duties as Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). Turko Daudov was appointed to the post of Permanent Representative. Decrees on the removal and appointment were signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 17. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is the largest and most influential official governmental Muslim international organization. It includes 57 countries with a population of about 1.5 billion people. Russia has had observer status in it since 2005.
Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Turko Daudov as Russia’s permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Mr. Abdulatipov was appointed Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OIC by presidential decree in December 2018. By another decree, he was released at the same time from the duties of the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for humanitarian and economic cooperation with the Caspian countries.
Ramazan Abdulatipov was dismissed from the post of head of Dagestan on October 3, 2017. Less than three weeks later, the 71-year-old politician was given the duties of a special representative of the president, but he dealt with issues of cooperation with the Caspian countries for just over a year.
