The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, congratulated Damir Pozdnyakov, who represented the Republic at the All-Russian chess competition “Pearl of the Caucasus”, in his official telegram channel.
The 2024 Russian Cup stage brought together the best young chess players of various ages in Kislovodsk from February 26 to March 3. Damir, who distinguished himself by his game in terms of the number of points he scored, became the winner in the age category up to 9 years.
This was not the first victory of the young Donetsk resident. Previously, the chess player, in addition to many prizes at the regional level, won silver at international competitions, and also won the qualifying round of the Sergei Karyakin Open Cup, which took place in the Moscow region.
