Yakut resident Rustam Tuprin became a bronze medalist at the international boxing tournament, reports the press service of the Triumph center.
The XX international boxing tournament in memory of Hero of the Soviet Union Viktor Liventsev ended in Minsk. About 100 boxers from Belarus, Russia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, China, Turkmenistan and Congo took part, who competed for 20 sets of medals (12 for men and 8 for women).
In the weight category up to 48 kg, Mirny boxer Rustam Tuprin won a bronze medal.
In the semi-final match, he lost to the winner of the Asian Championship, Anvar Khozhiev from Kyrgyzstan, who defeated the Russian boxer in the final, becoming the champion of the tournament.
Another Yakut boxer, Renat Zakharov (51 kg), performed as part of the Russian national team at this tournament, who, unfortunately, was defeated in the first fight by the prize-winner of the Russian junior championship, Zakhar Shirokov.
