Based on the results of the meeting of the State Commission on Radio Frequencies (SCRF) under the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, a working group will be created to allocate a special range for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), informs TASS with reference to the press service of the ministry.
“Following the results of the meeting, it is planned to create a working group,” they said.
The Ministry of Digital Development stressed that the issue of allocating specific frequency ranges for drones will not be considered at the next meeting. Within the framework of the working group, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will represent the interests of aircraft developers, and the Federal Air Transport Agency will be responsible for the legislative regulation of the use of radio frequencies.
The fact that in Russia an interdepartmental working group can be created to allocate special frequencies for drones, today informed newspaper “Izvestia”. According to the publication, for this they can allocate frequencies in the range of 1.7-1.8 GHz, which are now used on LTE networks. Civilian UAVs are currently controlled and transmit video data at 2.4 GHz frequencies, which also operate on WiFi, which can cause interference, especially if there are many drones in one place.
