Izvestia: a VR helmet with the resolution of the human eye has been developed
MNTlab, a laboratory specializing in industrial design, engineering and invention, has developed Falcon VR, a new varifocal virtual reality headset with resolution comparable to that of the human eye. As the company’s press service reported on February 8, the project was implemented with the support of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Fund for Assistance to the Development of Small Innovative Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Sphere” (Innovation Promotion Fund), which provided a grant of 20 million rubles.
According to the information, the modern gaming industry requires manufacturers of VR products to integrate video content, high-quality images of the focal display and develop a fast eye tracker.
Currently, only varifocal VR headsets can satisfy all these requirements. With resolution comparable to the human eye and built-in eye tracking, the device allows for realistic simulation of a variety of activities, from gameplay to flight training and surgical procedures.
