A volunteer met the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the front line and told how the Leopard was blown up

The Ukrainian counter-offensive has been going on for ten days now. Western tanks and combat vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not help much: the front line as a whole is still stable. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering colossal losses, amounting to dozens of pieces of equipment and hundreds of human lives. The MK war correspondent visited, together with one of the volunteer detachments, the most active sector of the front.

My interlocutor is a fighter of one of the volunteer units fighting in the most hot direction today. His call sign is “Fizruk”. He is the commander of a combat vehicle, and only at five in the morning he returned to the location from the front line, where he had been since June 4, that is, from the first day of the Ukrainian “offensive”. Came back to rest, wash, wash.

To my question about the situation, the man answers briefly, in a military way: “It’s hot.”

I understand that the events of recent days are not particularly conducive to narratives, but still I ask you to tell a little more about the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that has begun.

– But what to tell, – the interlocutor sighs wearily. – It all started on the night of the 4th, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to shell our positions with artillery and mortars. In the morning, their tanks and armored personnel carriers were already moving. Immediately, our army aviation began to work on them …

According to Fizruk, the coordinated actions of our units forced the enemy to change the direction of the strike and enter the minefields prepared in advance by Russian sappers. For half of the heavy equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this forced march was the last. Armored vehicles and tanks were blown up by mines, breaking down and forcing the crews to abandon their combat vehicles and run away in order to save their lives.

As the fighter said, among the blown up tanks there was also a German “Leopard” – the last hope of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At first, the Vesushniks even tried to evacuate the Western gift, but to do this without special equipment under non-stop fire turned out to be an empty undertaking.

– We left the forest belt and began to work on blown up cars, not giving the APU the opportunity to pick up the equipment, – the volunteer continues the story. They had no choice but to leave her.

According to intelligence data, 18 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, 20 tanks, pickup trucks were involved in the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this sector. Already by 15 o’clock the enemy, having suffered huge losses in manpower and equipment, began to retreat.

The following days were no less hot. Ukrainian soldiers, like ants, climbed and climbed forward. According to Fizruk, one of the Ukrainian officers who were taken prisoner personally confirmed that they were left ill-prepared to “clear minefields with their bodies.” More combat-ready units are still on standby.

Today, the situation on this sector of the front remains stably tense. According to “Fizruk”, thanks to the reinforcements that arrived the other day, the enemy’s chances of a breakthrough are practically reduced to zero.

– With the ground component of the “advance” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it is clear, but how do they use the airspace?

– They are doing very well with unmanned aircraft. A lot of “birds”, and different ones. From harmless, at first glance, store-bought kids – toys, to professional industrial giant drones with a strong warhead.

According to the volunteer, combat drones are aimed at destroying our equipment, dropping cumulative projectiles that burn through the armor.

– How to deal with such a drone?

– First of all, do not stand still, so that it would be more difficult for the drone to drop ammunition on you. Anti-drone guns also help a lot. The T-90 tanks are equipped with NSVT machine guns, remotely controlled by the tank commander. They are also used.

As Fizruk said, if dynamic protection is installed on tanks at the factory, then to protect other equipment, such as infantry fighting vehicles or infantry fighting vehicles, the fighters install it on their own.

I could not resist asking the volunteer a question that undoubtedly worries everyone: how ready is our army to repel the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine?

Fizruk answers without hesitation: “We are ready for sure in our direction. And the past ten days are proof of that.”
