A volleyball tournament of the regional Dynamo society took place in Veliky Novgorod, dedicated to the memory of a criminal investigation officer, police lieutenant Andrei Petrov. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Novgorod region.
The tournament was attended by teams from the regional and city departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, intermunicipal departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Borovichsky”, “Demyansky”, “Novgorodsky”, regional departments of the Federal Penitentiary Service, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, as well as the College of Technology.
The winner of the competition was the team of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Veliky Novgorod, the second place went to the police from Borovichi, the team of the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs won bronze medals.
Police lieutenant Andrei Petrov died while on duty in the North Caucasus in 2006. He was awarded many medals and badges, and was also awarded posthumously the Order of Courage.
