A unique open-air seawater pool will appear in Vladivostok

A unique year-round swimming pool with sea water is preparing to open in Vladivostok. The structure is located on the Jubilee beach in the open air and will be available to everyone who wants to strengthen their body and spirit after December 23.
The initiator of the appearance of an open sea pool on the Vladivostok embankment was the winter swimming federation “Kosatka DV”, which received support within the framework of a public-private partnership to implement its idea.
“These funds were used to equip a complex that included a swimming pool 25 meters long and nine meters wide with three water paths, locker rooms, a room for hydrothermal procedures, and a food outlet,” said the press service of the regional Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports.
The pool is equipped with a seawater filtration system, which will allow you to maintain the water temperature in winter at seven to ten degrees, but if necessary, it can be heated to thirty degrees.
“Athletes from the Primorsky Territory winter swimming team, who are leaders in this sport not only in Russia, but also in the world, will train in the pool. In the summer, children and adolescents under 18 years of age will study here for free under the federal program “Swimming for All,” explained the president of the regional federation, Oleg Dokuchaev.
This facility is scheduled to open on December 23, 2023. At the same time, the international winter swimming competition “Grand Prix Vladivostok 2023” will be held in the new sports facility.
