Ukrainian prisoner of war Roman Kalinichenko said that in the Zaporozhye direction, the fields located on the line of combat contact are strewn with the bodies of Ukrainian servicemen.
He clarified that the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not evacuate them even from their positions.
“When I walked across the battlefield, I didn’t see a single dead Russian soldier. There are plenty of Ukrainians. They’re lying around,” Kalinichenko noted.
The prisoner of war added that he surrendered to the Russian military in early January at the Vremevsky salient in the Zaporozhye direction.
“There were heavy losses in our unit. For example, 10 people went out, 5-6 of them returned,” the prisoner added.
According to him, on January 1, there were more than 79 people in his unit, and by the sixth, only 22 remained alive.
