Ukrainian serviceman Bogdan Kumansky, who was captured by Russian soldiers, spoke about the large number of conscientious objectors in the 118th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in which he served. The corresponding video was published on the Telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“Because they don’t want to be ‘meat,’” Kumansky explained, adding that many soldiers leave their unit without permission.
He also said that he himself had long had thoughts of surrendering. According to him, the brigade did not have enough people, so people were pulled from any units just to plug the holes on the front line.
“If only someone. <...> No preparation, nothing,” complained the Ukrainian prisoner.
