“A terrible mistake”: the German princess took part in a candid photo shoot for a famous men's magazine

Xenia Florence Gabriela Sophie Iris, Princess of Saxony, will appear topless in the local version of Playboy magazine. The glamorous German princess became the first aristocrat to take part in such a frank event.

“Every woman is beautiful just the way she is,” the Princess of Saxony said in an interview with a men’s magazine. A woman claims her connection to the 1000-year-old House of Wettin.

Ksenia is confident that her great-grandfather, the last king of Saxony, Frederick Augustus III, would “definitely approve” of her latest photo shoot, she told the magazine.

As the Daily Mail notes, the raunchy photo shoot was the latest in a string of unorthodox appearances by the princess, who has in the past embarrassed her royal rivals with her claims to fame.

However, Ksenia proudly gave a bold interview to the magazine, admitting that she “fights prejudice all the time” because of her title, but ultimately sees it as a “blessing” from which she can make the most of it.

The photo shoot is not the first time Princess Xenia has sparked controversy for her public exploits.

In 2011, the House of Wettin itself rejected her claims to the title of princess after she announced her biography: Xenia: The Life of a Princess in the 21st Century.

“She is nothing. She can’t have a biography. This thing is a terrible oversight, a misfortune for the 1000-year-old House of Wettin,” said the head of the defunct dynasty, Maria Emanuel, Margrave of Meissen.

But Xenia is proven to be the great-great-granddaughter of Saxony’s last king, Frederick Augustus III, and her royal connections remain in the headlines. Her mother, Iris of Saxony, is the daughter of Prince Timo of the House of Representatives. Timo’s father – Xenia’s great-grandfather – was Prince Ernst Heinrich, husband of Archduchess Louise of Austria and son of Frederick Augustus III, the last king of Saxony.

Despite criticism of Xenia for her alleged connection to the crown, the princess recognized her royal connection and made a name for herself at world exhibitions.

In 2016, she appeared in an Israeli production that brought together celebrity lovers to spend several weeks in an intimate space, surrounded by cameras, performing various tasks.

She soon began appearing on dance shows and on the German version of I’m a Celebrity! in 2021. But fame didn’t always come easy for the princess, who says her title kept her from finding her prince charming.

In an interview with BZ in 2010, she said: “I’ve actually been single since I was born. After a while, everyone turned out to be the bad guy.” She “just wants to be a normal girl,” the publication concluded.

That same year, Ksenia expanded her search for love to England, where she appeared in BBC Three’s Princess Undercover, hiding her celebrity status and living a more ordinary life in a house in Essex under the name “Gabi from Germany.”

Ksenia, then 22, struggled to choose between suitors and returned to Germany without a new prince.

In her book, she openly wrote about how her father refused to recognize her as his daughter until he was presented with evidence. Ksenia also alleged that her father abused her as a child and forced her to pose for inappropriate photographs.
