Denis Fil, a second-grade student of the Moscow school No. 498, became the absolute world champion in checkers.
Youth competitions were held in Bulgaria. About three hundred children from fifteen countries of the world took part in them. Medals were awarded in six age categories and in three disciplines: classical, rapid and blitz.
Denis Fil won gold medals in the age category “athletes under nine years old” in all three proposed disciplines. And he became the absolute winner of competitions among children of his age. The boy has been fond of checkers since the age of five, he already has the first adult category. Among his achievements are 25 medals of various competitions. This year, Denis won the title of champion of Russia in the age category up to nine years, three medals of the Russian championship, as well as several medals of the All-Russian competitions.
