A student of the eleventh medical class of the Moscow School No. 2065, Amina Sultygova received a grant from the Moscow government for outstanding scientific projects, and also entered the top 80 schoolchildren who achieved high educational and creative results.
The girl was awarded a grant for the development of a “material” that helps human bones grow together after fractures and other injuries. The research work with a rather complicated title “Study of the effect of substitution of Ca2+ ions for Sr2+ ions on the biological compatibility of octacalcium phosphate in vitro” was carried out by the schoolgirl under the guidance of the supervisor, candidate of biological sciences Irina Fadeeva on the basis of the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics. By the way, it was this work that allowed the schoolgirl to become the winner of the All-Russian Scientific and Technological Competition. Now Amina is working on another project related to the treatment of oncology using proton therapy.
– Amina is going to connect her life with fundamental medicine or pharmaceuticals. She will certainly be able to reach great heights in science, because she digs deep, always finds cause-and-effect relationships, works seriously with research literature and puts her knowledge into practice,” says Elena Glyankina, the class teacher of the schoolgirl.
