A spider has settled and shed in the ear of a Taiwanese woman

Otolaryngologists removed a spider from the ear of a 64-year-old Taiwanese woman, who allegedly spent at least four days there. The arthropod shed directly in the ear canal.
For four days, the woman felt that something was moving in her left ear and heard inexplicable sounds, such as clicking and rustling. When she went to a medical facility, a spider, presumably belonging to the jumpers (Salticidae), as well as its exoskeleton, was found in her ear.
The spider did not damage the eardrum; immediately after removing it, the woman felt better. The case was described in The New England Journal of Medicine.
