It has a lot of fruit sticks but no can opener
A special diet for the Russian Guardsmen performing tasks in the Far North was developed by specialists from the Federal National Guard Service. The corresponding order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Guard was posted on August 25 for discussion on the Federal Portal of Regulatory Legal Acts.
The developed document will complement the current one, which establishes nutritional standards, survival rations, on-board rations, and emergency supply kits to provide for the National Guard. The Arctic differs from the standard diet in higher calorie content and compactness. True, it is less diverse.
For example, the updated menu does not include canned fruits and vegetables. But it includes a lot of products prepared by the freeze-drying method – concentrates of the first and second courses with meat, freeze-dried scrambled eggs and cottage cheese.
Instead of black tea provided for by the standard diet, polar explorers will be given instant tea with sugar or additives. In addition, it is planned not to include marmalade and candy caramel, which are in the standard diet, in the Arctic diet. To compensate for their absence, the polar explorers will increase the daily allowance of sugar.
In addition, the Arctic, as well as the standard ration, includes multivitamins (one tablet per day). An additional source of vitamins in the diet of the National Guard polar explorers will be fruit sticks (four fifty-gram packages instead of two in a regular ration). And if in the usual diet there can only be “Fruit with Nut” sticks, then sticks of different types can be included in the polar one.
The Arctic ration differs from the usual one in that it includes three toothpicks (in the usual one – three chewing gums) and a flameless warmer (in the usual one – only portable). Here is the can opener
