A deputy from Peru was unable to fly to Moscow due to a US ban
Peruvian MP Guillermo Bermejo was unable to fly to Moscow due to a ban from the United States of America. The agency reported this TASS.
The parliamentarian was supposed to take part in the event “For the Freedom of Nations!”, which will take place on February 15-17 in the Russian capital. He was going to fly from Lima to Mexico City, and then transfer to a plane to the Russian Federation in Istanbul. At the same time, a small part of the aircraft’s route passed through US airspace.
The South American lawmaker said that when he made a transfer, the airline informed him of a warning from the US immigration service that he was prohibited from flying through US airspace.
The parliamentarian from Peru noted that he had a diplomatic passport and did not intend to enter American territory. Despite the arguments, he was refused permission to board the plane.
