A sober run in Yaroslavl attracted more than 2,000 people

On January 1, the traditional “Sober Run” took place in Yaroslavl. The sports and social event is being held for the 12th time. And year after year it attracts more and more people. If 200-300 athletes gathered for the first sober races in January, then this year there were about 2000 people.
The organizers prepared 1,150 medals for the participants. But they were missed by everyone who took part in the run. “We gave out 1 medal per family in order to please the participants and not upset them with refusal,” said the organizer of the event, the head of the “Sober Yaroslavl” group, Alexey Gorokhov.
“Sober jogging” is held in Yaroslavl annually, on January 1, at 14:00. The start of the run is given from the monument to Nekrasov on the Volga Embankment. The finish is at the Spartakovets stadium. The race distance is 2024 meters.
This year, the severe frost did not stop the runners. Social activists, city defenders, deputies, famous athletes, and just families of Yaroslavl residents go for a sober jog.
The run ended with some great games at the stadium and a tea party.
This year Tutaev joined the movement of sober runners. A sober race was also held in the city on the Volga, attracting about a hundred participants.
