A skier from the Arkhangelsk region got rich in Murmansk

Athlete of the Arkhangelsk Region Aleksey Shemyakin became the winner and bronze medalist of the 49th Murmansk Ski Marathon, which was held in the capital of the Arctic as part of the festival “Celebration of the North”.
The marathon was attended by skiers from 300 cities and 60 regions of Russia, as well as from Norway and the Republic of Belarus.
According to tradition, on the first day of the competition, athletes cover a distance of 50 km in a free style, on the second day – in a classic one.
It should be noted that the Murmansk marathon is the northernmost marathon among marathons with cross-country skiing in Russia. The race is also included in the Russian ski marathon series Russialoppet.
Aleksey Shemyakin became the winner of the marathon at a distance of 50 km in classical style. His result is 2 hours 28 minutes 22 seconds.
In the freestyle race, the Severodvinsk skier won bronze.
