Nikita Firsov, a student of the Serpukhov children’s sports school “Zubrenok”, was number one in the Moscow region team and will compete as part of the team at the Russian Championship.
The Moscow region championship among boys and girls in cross-country skiing has ended in Krasnogorsk. At the competition, selection was made for the team that will participate in the Russian championship.
The skiers ran a short skating race of 5 km and a classic long race of 10 km.
Due to frost, the starts were postponed – the athletes were supposed to run on January 4 and 5, but performed on January 5 and 6.
On January 5, Serpukhov Nikita Firsov showed an excellent result – he won the race in skating.
Today Nikita took part in a long classic race.
– There was no need to run, since I qualified yesterday. Two people who won races in skating, classics and one in sprint are included in the Russian national team,” said his coach Marina Firsova.
However, Nikita decided to participate in the competition and took an honorable second place.
– We’ll rest a little and get ready for Russia. We will go to Syktyvkar on February 14-18,” summed up Marina Firsova.
We congratulate Nikita on his brilliant victory and wish him to conquer all heights!
