A second administrative case has been opened against ex-GRU colonel Vladimir Kvachkov for discrediting the Russian army. Information about this is posted in database Moscow courts.
Mr. Kvachkov is a defendant in an administrative case for public actions aimed at discrediting the Russian army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). The administrative case was registered today, December 4, in the Dorogomilovsky District Court of Moscow. It is unknown what became the reason for initiating a new case.
On August 15, Vladimir Kvachkov was already fined for 40 thousand rubles. for an administrative offense under the same article. Then the reason was three posts with a photo and text that were published on the Odnoklassniki social network in the group “Vladimir Vasilyevich Kvachkov” with 21 thousand subscribers. According to the police, Mr. Kvachkov has been the administrator of the resource since 2019. The ex-colonel himself claimed that he did not have access to this group and learned about its existence from the police.
The ex-GRU colonel became known to the general public in 2005 after he was detained in the case of an assassination attempt on the then head of RAO UES Anatoly Chubais. However, the jury twice found Mr. Kvachkov and his alleged accomplices innocent. In 2013, Vladimir Kvachkov was sentenced to 13 years in prison for preparing an armed rebellion. The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation reduced this period to eight years. While serving his sentence he was convicted for another year and a half due to the posting of an extremist video online. Retired GRU colonel released came out in 2019.
In September, Dorogomilovsky Court of Moscow banned Vladimir Kvachkov to participate in mass events until February 19, 2029, when his criminal record will be expunged. In addition, Mr. Kvachkov was ordered to register with the police at his place of residence once a month.
