The island athlete won gold at the XXI traditional boxing tournament in memory of Vladislav Strizhov, which took place from December 1 to 4 in Nadym. This was reported by the press service of the OSAU DO “School School “Crystal”.

Major youth boxing competitions this year brought together more than a hundred boxers, 29 teams, 30 coaches, 16 judges from 19 regions of Russia and four countries. Over three days of competition, 90 fights were held and 20 sets of awards were awarded.

The Sakhalin region was represented at the tournament by three students from the Kristall sports school in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. As a result, Alexander Yakushev’s ward, Nuriddin Abdullaev, successfully reached the final and won the match with an opponent from Abkhazia, securing the gold medal. Another Sakhalin resident, Amir Giesov, also took third place in the tournament.

“He was a little lacking in the second fight, and with a disagreement among the judges, Amir took third place,” noted Alexander Yakushev.
