One of the Russian soldiers, who took part in the battle on the left bank of the Dnieper when Ukrainian marines tried to gain a foothold there, spoke about the events.
According to him, a group of 15 Russian fighters was led into battle by commander Zolto Arslanov. “The battle was fast, hard, not to say tedious,” noted the Russian military man.
According to him, as a result of the battle, seven Ukrainian marines were captured, and four more surrendered after their ammunition ran out.
The Russian military also noticed that commander Arslanov was wounded in this battle, but continued to participate in the clash. He also noted the successful actions of the “Chief” and “French” fighters, who came from the flank and knocked out a Ukrainian machine gunner with the butt of their weapon.
It is known that on the Ukrainian side, military personnel of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces took part in the battle.
