In Khabarovsk, a court sentenced 30-year-old member of the Ukrainian Legion “Freedom of Russia” (an organization recognized as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation) V.S. Mikhalev to 8 years.
He will serve the first 3 years in prison, then he will be redirected to a maximum security correctional colony. The man was found guilty under articles 205.5 (“Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization”) and 275.1 (“Cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Mikhalev voluntarily became a member of the legion because of his political convictions. According to investigators, he intended to commit sabotage and terrorist attacks in the Khabarovsk Territory, aimed at the safety of Russians.
