A suspension bridge of an original design, which can be relatively easily erected and used for automobile traffic, was invented and patented by a scientist from the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. Airships will have to hold the structure above the abyss.

The main structural elements of the bridge will be lattice platforms suspended from balloons. That is, to build such a bridge in a hard-to-reach place, the airships will first need to line up one after the other. Workers will then descend from the gondolas onto the platforms and connect them. The bridge elements are made of lattice precisely to make it easier to fasten them together, as well as to reduce the weight of the structure.

To connect with neighboring platforms, additional sections, also lattice, will be installed at their end ends. They will be hinged to their platforms. When creating a bridge, additional sections will be transferred to adjacent platforms and attached to them through the grid cells using additional fasteners. In addition, bollards will be installed at the corners of the main platforms – metal bollards for fastening ropes, the same as those found on piers and on the sides of ships, so that the corners will be additionally secured with ropes.

Finally, anchorage to the banks of the gorge. To create it you will need stool-shaped sections. Essentially, they will resemble stools that have been stuck with their legs into the edges of the gorge. It is to them that the outer platforms of the bridge will be attached. According to the inventor, the holes for the “legs” will be made by climbers.

When creating a bridge, additional sections will be folded onto the stools, secured, and then traffic can begin to move. Dismantling such bridges will also not be too difficult.
