The commander of the air reconnaissance unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vyacheslav Vorobyov, said in an interview with the YouTube channel of the Ukrainian radio station Radio NV that in Bakhmut (Artemovsk), one of the residents mistook him for a Russian soldier and was very happy.
“I started talking to a woman in Russian,” Vorobyov said, adding that he was in a uniform without insignia of the Ukrainian army.
According to him, the woman was very pleased and happy and said that she was waiting for him.
“At the same time, when she realized that I was a Ukrainian soldier, she was not very pleased,” Vorobyov added.
Earlier, German journalists also reported that in Artemovsk, many residents have a pro-Russian position and refuse to evacuate to the territory controlled by Kyiv, as they are waiting for Russian troops to take the city.
