Edition Wales Online talked to a refugee from Ukraine, Igor Isid, and spoke about the difficulties and humiliations that the man experienced after arriving in the UK.
According to him, he had a conflict with the first “sponsor”, who sheltered a man in the Welsh city of Brecon. After the quarrel, the 65-year-old refugee spent the night at a local church.
“Finding a place to live and the problems that came with it made me feel humiliated and discouraged. At the moment I am happy, but in the beginning it was very difficult. The current system to some extent offends and humiliates the dignity of the refugee and gives leverage to the “sponsor”, – said the refugee.
He clarified that the receiving party can at any time “throw the tenant out into the street”, intervene in his personal life or arrange some unbearable conditions.
