A 28-year-old resident of the capital had to be hospitalized by doctors on Wednesday evening after being bitten by a rare poisonous snake. The victim is a reptile specialist who works for a company that wholesales rare snakes for terrariums and zoos.
A man was bitten by a Philippine keffiyeh at his workplace. The emergency occurred at 5 p.m., and the young man called the ambulance only six hours later from his apartment on Yuzhnobutovskaya Street, complaining of an allergic reaction and swelling of his finger.
As MK learned, similar cases had already happened to the specialist; poisonous reptiles had bitten him before. The man was urgently hospitalized and is now under medical supervision.
The reptile that bit the Muscovite belongs to a species of venomous viper snakes that are found in the Philippines. The reptile’s venom is dangerous to humans; it can cause necrosis followed by amputation and even death.
