The construction of an automated railway terminal has been completed at the capital’s refinery. It will increase the efficiency and environmental friendliness of fuel shipment. Details of the modernization of the refinery, which will be completed by 2025, were announced by Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
“The terminal is equipped with the latest emergency and fire protection systems, as well as modern technologies that will triple the environmental performance and ensure hermetic fuel loading,” the official said, adding that the complex will fill more than 100 wagons per day.
The unit has a vapor recovery device. It returns vapors to production and eliminates release to the atmosphere. After the modernization is completed, the plant in Kapotnya will become the cleanest and most modern refinery in Europe. The plant is included in the unified system of ecological monitoring of Moscow.
“When building new modern plants, we use technologies aimed at reducing the impact on the environment and maximizing industrial safety,” said Vitaly Zuber, General Director of the enterprise.
Air pollution monitoring stations have been installed in residential areas adjacent to the refinery. The data is transmitted around the clock to the Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection of Moscow. The new terminal received a conclusion on compliance with the requirements of technical regulations from Rostekhnadzor.
