A prisoner complained about cruelty in a Moscow pre-trial detention center: beards are forcibly shaved off

And some people are kept in a cell for a day without food or water.

An inmate of pre-trial detention center No. 3 “Presnya” complained to the Femida servants about the forced shaving of his beards. In addition, he said that in this detention center people are kept in the cells of the collection section for many hours without food or water, not allowing them to fulfill their natural needs.

As lawyer Timur Idalov told MK, his client Murat Abdullaev (at one time acquitted in a high-profile case of attacking collectors) on Wednesday told the judge of the Butyrsky District Court about the torture he was subjected to in pre-trial detention center No. 3. According to him, before his eyes his prisoners had their beards forcibly shaved (moreover, representatives of different faiths), referring to the fact that the internal regulations say: the beard must be neat.

Abdullaev also said that upon arrival at this detention center, he spent 26 hours in the collection department. The peculiarities of the cells located there are that there is no toilet, no table, no beds. At the same time, allegedly the people were not fed or given water during the period when everything was happening. The judge agreed that all this violated basic principles of human rights and granted the request for a judicial response.

Timur Idalov also appealed to human rights activists with a request to conduct a comprehensive inspection of pre-trial detention center No. 3.
