The Laboratory of X-ray Solar Astronomy of the Institute of Space Research and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported a solar flare classified as the highest grade X. According to preliminary data, it occurred on the Sun-Earth line and a cloud of plasma headed towards the planet.
Solar plasma can cause a magnetic storm on Earth. It is expected to occur on the evening of March 24th or morning of March 25th
Astrophysicists plan to clarify the data throughout the day.
