Vasily Strizhakov, who was involved in the case of preparing an assassination attempt on TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov, was sent for compulsory treatment to a psychiatric clinic. This decision was made by the Second Western District Military Court.
The investigation considered that Strizhakova committed the crime in a state of insanity. At the same time, data on the manufacture of explosives was found in his phone, and weapons were found in the house.
Strizhakov himself stated that he simply let other defendants in the case live with him, but did not commit the crime himself. The lawyer also noted that other defendants in the case stated that Strizhakov was not involved.
During the trial, the prosecution named the accused’s diagnosis as “organic delusional schizophrenia-like disorder and stimulant dependence syndrome.”
