A Paralympic reserve school has opened in the Tambov region

The Tambov adaptive sports school has been awarded the status of a Paralympic and Deaflympic reserve school. This was reported by the regional government.

The school has been training athletes since 2012 in powerlifting, alpine skiing, tandem road cycling, chess, goalball and Greco-Roman wrestling. About 300 children and adults study here. Training takes place in 4 sports: sports for the deaf, sports for the blind, sports for POD, sports for LIN, as well as 10 disciplines.

Following the results of last season, 23 athletes were included in the main team of the Russian national teams and 4 Tambov residents were included in the reserve team. Six coaches of the school are coaches of Russian national teams in various types of adaptive sports.

As the Minister of Sports of the Tambov Region Pavel Gritskov emphasized, to obtain the status of a school of Paralympic and Deaflympic reserves, a huge amount of work was done by a large team.
